On a cloudy
Saturday in July the North face festival was hosted at Queens Park. Master of
ceremonies Mighty Mick did a grand job introducing the many and varied acts.
Our reporter plus children arrived in the park and was immediately drawn towards the main stage, where a trio (two boys one girl) called Imitation were just beginning their routine. Dancing to pop group Steps music hence their name.
A tour of the fairground attractions came next with the usual pleas of I want to go on that
Then on to the FREE yes I said FREE Barbecue! After tummies were satisfied a stroll round the Action for jobs marquee where the children picked up, pens, paper hats, key-rings, sweets and a Helium filled balloon all free!
Unfortunately our reporter was on a tight schedule and quite a lot of the festival had to be missed out, (Fun Zone, Face Painting, Story Telling.) however not before a few of the circus skills had been tried and voted a hit with the kids.
Congratulations to the organisers
and for my own part I must say a big Thank You for the free food. It really
does cut down on the expense when parents dont have to pay £1-50
for a portion of chips or a burger which is quite usual at this sort of affair.
