Failsworth Carnival
It was a very nice day weather wise both for the watchers and doers’. The circular route started on Lord Lane and toured the residential area for about two and a half hours finishing on the playing fields behind the Millgate Hotel where the fun of the fair was indeed a splendid affair.

En’route we witnessed many floats amongst whom were the Failsworth Dance Club (Shark Fin Bay and Treasure Island), the 248 Scout Troop (Vikings) and Hope Methodist Brownies (Teddy Bears Picnic). Many Majorette Troupe’s were twirling their batons with great skill and dancing troupes were terrific and in fine synchronic form.
Failsworth dynamo FC didn’t even stop for half time.
Amid all this The Eight Bells Public House were portraying “Stars in their eyes” and even if Frank Sinatra sounded more like Fred FlintsTONE! it added to the fun.

The individual young ladies chosen as Carnival Queens and all the little Rose Buds were all beautifully turned out and lovely to see the whole procession was a visual delight and all who took part should be proud of themselves.

The day went well and the Charities were well supported.

Congratulations to all.
