Community Stop Smoking Advisor Scheme
smoking cessation logoAre you interested in helping people to stop smoking? If so this scheme could be for you.

You will be trained to work (Voluntarily) to help groups or individuals who are trying to give up smoking.

No particular skills are required to be a volunteer as full training and support will be given.

It is important that volunteers are non-judgemental towards smokers and are sympathetic in their attitude to people trying to stop smoking.

People volunteering for this scheme will be required to complete an application form and attend an informal interview.

There is an initial two-day course where volunteers can expect to gain;
Skills in working with groups. Satisfaction from helping people

Enjoyment from working as part of a team.

Knowledge and Expertise in Smoking and Health.

For more information about volunteering opportunities or to join a stop smoking group please contact:
Abbie, Community Project Worker on 205 5998.

Talking of smoking, do you have any funny stories about smoking? Your first cigarette or getting caught smoking by your parents or teacher. If so write in and tell us about it.
