A Pat on the Back for Have Your Say
The Have Your Say team were invited to an award ceremony at Saint Brigid’s Church Hall last September, where they were presented with a Certificate of Achievement from the Lord Mayor of Manchester Councillor Hugh Barrat for their work in producing Have Your Say Magazine. The team along with other community groups have received funding from the Beswick and Bradford Community Fund “To carry out work that enhances and develops the community”

The award certificate was given in recognition of this, and the Have Your Say team were proud to accept it. Kathryn says “The whole event was lovely, the buffet superb, a small section of St. Brigid’s Steel Band performed some of their music for us. The Host of Ceremonies Norman Tinsel spent his spare time doing card tricks and making balloon animals for the children. But more importantly It was so nice to be able to see other community groups that had benefited from this fund. There are a lot of voluntary and community groups working towards making our areas better places to live, in lots of different way. I was extremely proud to receive the certificate on behalf of the Have Your Say team though I have to admit I was very nervous at giving a short speech, however me and my wobbly voice managed!”
