Honesty Pays
Have Your Say Love to hear your stories, Particularly if they are happy ones. We are glad to report one that came to our attention recently, about a 10yr old Miles Platting boy.

Ashley Hutton boarded the school bus one morning, as he sat in his seat he found a gent’s wallet, he handed the wallet to the driver who took his name. A couple of days later during Corpus Christi with St Anne’s school assembly, the headteacher Mr Sowerby called Ashley’s name out, he told the whole school about a letter he had received. He read out the letter, it was from the owner of the wallet who was very grateful to get his wallet back. In the letter the gentleman thanked Ashley for returning his wallet and said Ashley’s parents must take credit for his upbringing. and they must be justifiably proud of him for his honesty. He felt the school should take some credit also. He had put a reward of £10 in with the letter and asked Mr. Sowerby to pass it on to Ashley. The same evening on the school bus going home the driver who Ashley had given the wallet to, asked him to stand at the front of the bus, he told the children on the bus about the wallet incident and asked them to give him a clap. He then also gave him a £10 reward.

Ashley’s mum said, “We are proud and delighted with Ashley we have always tried to teach our children to do the right thing. I felt really emotional when I heard all the children on the school bus cheering! It was very nice the man had taken the trouble to find out about who handed the wallet in and to write to the school, a lot of people wouldn’t have bothered.”

Ashley’s Nana said. “We were really chuffed when we heard about the fuss that had been made of Ashley.”
PS. Ashley wrote a letter of thank’s to the gentleman Well Done Ashley!
