Flooding the co-op cellar
On rainy days my sister and I would go out in our wellington boots to build a dam at the side of the co-op on Bradford Road which was about ten yards from our back door. We enjoyed splashing about and got very absorbed in our dam building. Some time later, the manager from the co-op would knock on the door to tell our mother that we had once again flooded the cellar. We were only very young at the time and we thought it was great fun. We did get a telling off and that stopped us, ............ until the next time.
