A Few Reminders for your safety at Christmas Time
Whilst out shopping:
Don't carry large amounts of cash.
Distribute cash cards, keys and valuables about your person (in fastened pockets)
Try to shop in daylight hours or keep to well lit areas.
Be Vigilant:
Watch out for people hanging around about cash machines, Is one or more people acting suspiciously?
Always cover the keypad with one hand whilst tapping in your number with the other hand.
Does the cash machine look as though it could have been tampered with?
Car Safety:
Whilst in the car or leaving the car, keep presents and parcels out of sight.
Don't leave valuables in the glove compartment.
Don't leave keys in the ignition ever!
Park in attended car park when ever possible.
When leaving the car hide your of satellite navigation system away.
Lock laptops etc. in the boot
Nights out:
Don't get so drunk that you don't know what you are doing!
Keep your wits about you, do not leave your phone on view and don't flash the cash.
At Home:
Don't leave presents under the tree or in view of a window - if you think they look attractive so will thieves!
Think about what rubbish you leave out - empty boxes can give away what's new in your house!
Keep your home secure lock doors and windows.
If you are going to be back late use light timers.
Don't leave large amounts of cash in the house, put it in the bank.
Store or discard receipts with care - be aware of identity theft. Thieves aren't above rooting through rubbish bins to obtain your details and these could be used by the thief to obtain goods.
