reaching fifty years of marriage
If ever there was time to celebrate one's life it has to be now,
To be married fifty years it's what you call wow.
It's a precious time for both of you and one that can't be bought,
And shows the love you share together not being alone with your thoughts,
If one could sit with memories and remember most of the past
The good, the bad, the happiness and the sadness as well.
Then we all have fears and tears that never last,
And put them all together, what a story you could tell
Without upsetting others, the likes of William Tell
A man who truly lived.
Many years ago you both fell in love with each other,
A love that has stayed through the years
And 50 years is a long time.
It wasn't long before you asked Joyce to marry you
To which she obviously said yes
With a lovely big smile and a kiss.
I know things haven't changed
As your love is still the same
God's blessing at your side,
That's how it is till the day we die.
