This park is splendid for the area. I’ve lived here
all my life and we have never had anything like this, so let’s hope the kids
enjoy it. We are all going to look after it. I’d chase any hooligans off
if I see them.
The good thing is there are no entrances for cars to get on
and that will help. Anything that comes to this area that will help the kids
is great, so that they don’t get involved in bad things. Anything will
be an improvement because we’ve not got anything have we?

This park has improved this part of Miles Platting but
I think in 3 weeks it will be gone. The grass will be gone soon. I am 15 and I
would stop people if I saw them damaging anything but there is not much I can
do really.
We want more youth clubs, indoor centres, football pitches
or the sports centre that was promised. The little ones of 10 or 11 have nothing
to do. We’d love a motorbike track! I think this park is top!

The area of Miles Platting has always been very active.
If people realise that this park is theirs and look after it, it will be a new
start. When we used to plant trees in the area certain people used to decapitate
them straight away but people went on planting them and the vandals got fed up
and now trees are left. So you don’t give way to the vandals and not do anything
that’s counter productive. What you do is look after the people and let them
participate in the planning as they have done with the park.

The Victoria Mill Park has vastly improved the area and
now there is so much for the children to do. It certainly will make a difference
because the kids had nowhere to go so they just hung around the streets. Now this
park is ideal because they’ve got football, basketball and play amenities
for the little ones. There is something for all ages.
The only concern I’ve got about the park is the maintainance.
We need someone looking after it or patrolling it.

I would like to see the canal made safer with railings around
it because my son Peter has been pushed in it three times already. This park
is brilliant and has made a big difference to the area.
