City Of Manchester Stadium To Host Uefa Cup Final
2008 is the single biggest year of world sport in Manchester since the XVII Commonwealth Games in 2002.
The City will be hosting a unique series of unmissable world events. Manchester will be buzzing once again as the world’s greatest athletes arrive in numbers, ready to test themselves against the very best in the world of sport.

There will be lots of other major events taking place across Manchester during 2008. Sportcity will be once again be hosting the Paralympics World Cup on 11th May and we will also see the return of two successful major attractions back at Sportcity. On the 16th - 31st May the fantastic theme park returns with a selection of thrilling white knuckle rides as well as traditional family rides and entertainment. Then from 5th –15th June the Chinese State Circus will be performing to sell out audiences.
The biggest event of the year takes place on May 14th when the City of Manchester Stadium will play host to the UEFA Cup Final.
The Final of the world’s largest club football competition is the conclusion to a historical and thrilling tournament, which involves 80 football clubs across Europe; previous winners have included Real Madrid, Porto, Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool. The climax to the tournament will be televised live in over 200 countries and territories world wide.
