Consider them each day,
Those places that you hope to see,
Exotic, far away.

Don't miss the beauty all around
Or spoil your plans and schemes.

To help in all you do.

Little Kindnesses
Little Kindnesses through the day
Are lovely on our difficult way,
Help that we can give to our friends
Or sudden hugs to make amends.
We could help a stranger carry her bags
Or give some clothes to those in rags;
Befriend someone who feels alone,
Ring a friend up on the phone.
We can help the helpless, do what we can,
For people have struggled since time began.
We can try to comfort those who feel sad
In times of trial when life seems bad,
Tell them they are in our prayers,
Let them know that someone cares.
We can sit with those in earthly strife
And sympathise with the problems of life.
It is lovely to tend the needs of others,
For those we meet are our sisters and brothers,
And we know who watches from far above
For this is the way of eternal love.
