Anyone For A Quickie?
Anyone For A Quickie? My mother Mary Jordon always enjoyed your magazines asking “has Alf been with Have Your Say?” She wouldn’t put it down until every word had been read. Sadly mam passed away on 29th August 2005, she would have been 99yrs the following October.

Talking about the past and funny things that happened during her life, my niece brought to mind this occasion:

We were watching a dancing contest on the pier at Blackpool. One of the male contestants was pouring in sweat. As he left the floor mam touched his arm and asked “Would you like a quickie?” The man looked puzzled and rather shocked. What he didn’t realise was ‘the quickie’ was a refreshing wet wipe in a little round tin! Mam couldn’t understand why we were all in fits of laughter.
