Some More of our friends from afar
Hi Maggi and staff

I recently received an email from Alf and Elsie Almond telling me you are thinking of adding photos of people on your overseas mailing list and asked me to send you one of my wife and I, included is a current photo and one taken in 1944 we have known each other for 63 years and hope to celebrate our diamond wedding in 2 years time.
Thanks again for your copies of HYS they are very much appreciated by us and all the ex Mancunian friends of ours over here in OZ.
Hi there from Downunder,

I am so pleased to receive your wonderful magazine, I really enjoy reading about life in Miles Platting where I went to school first at Nelson Street and later at Holland Street while living in Ancoats.
In your latest issue, much to my joy I noticed two names that I remembered and I think they were both in my class at Holland St one was Cynthia Flitcroft and the other was Stella Allen. You can imagine how excited I was as this is the first time I have seen names I recognized, although I avidly scan the magazine each publication in the hope that I may
find someone from my school days, sadly too many of the ladies who write to you only give their married names and it would be much appreciated by all I'm sure if they included their maiden name, anyway love reading about begone days and just in case anyone thinks they may know me or maybe not but just wants a chat I was born in 1939 and now live in a beautiful part of Australia namely Port Macquarie N.S.W. My e-mail address is keppensh@optusnet.com.au and I really would like to hear from anyone whether still living in Greater M/c or who knows maybe even here in Oz, thank you so much once again for a truly wonderful publication.
Stan here, from Australia.
I was hoping that you could help me through your magazine.
I am trying to find details as when St Edmunds church, that was in Monsall St, Miles Platting, was demolished. I am also seeking any photographs anybody may have.

Thanks once again for my regular surprise package whenever your new edition of HAVE YOUR SAY comes out. I always consume it in one sitting and love to pass it on to friends.
I’d be pleased if you would also include my postal address and e-mail address, so that if anyone remembers me, they can contact me here in Perth. I may be coming to Manchester for a visit around next Easter so if I do, I’d love to call in and meet you all.
Carry on with your good work. If I was living there I’d certainly be volunteering with you.
Thanks a million.
