Have Your Say Annual General Meeting

I just wanted to say a big thank you to you all for a lovely afternoon at the open day. (Wednesday 28th September).

I recognised a few familiar faces on the group photograph posted on the display of St. Luke’s pupils in 1935, and it was great to meet like-minded people who were eager to swap memories of yesteryear.

Many say we should not look back, but what is more pleasurable than remembering people and places where we used to live?

Joe Thomlinson, our 99 year old friend had a lovely afternoon too and lapped up being ‘the celebrity’ for a while. My friend and I have known Joe and his late wife Bertha since our teenage years, and that goes back a bit.

My one regret is that I hadn’t got my camera with me to take photographs of Joe with the mayor, so if anybody has any prints for sale or a negative I could borrow I would be very grateful.
