‘Youth and Experience’

A grant was obtained from Manchester City Council to put on a V.E. Day event so Have Your Say held a ‘Youth and Experience’ get together on Sunday 8th May 2005. Where young and older people came and enjoyed each others’ company, a buffet lunch, and displays of old photographs etc.
The youngsters were interested in the older peoples tales from the past and are keen to interview and record peoples stories as part of the Now and Then project which will continue for a second year.

Local singer/songwriter Dominic Collins performed some of his own material and a couple of George Formby numbers for them.

A mini bus was on call to transport people into Manchester Town Centre for the other V.E. Day events they wished to attend, however most people stayed at the Have Your Say event until the end.
