The New Shop on Moston Lane was officially opened on Friday 28th January 05 which has already had a great impact on helping people into work. Our first customer to come through the doors found work within 12 days of being registered on the project. At first he was nervous and felt a bit intimidated but by the end of his first interview, he commented on how the new environment had helped reassure him.
He was looking for work as a handyperson and found a vacancy in Harpurhey. We offered assistance to support and attend this interview with him.
He successfully completed his first interview and was invited for a second interview in which he was formally offered the job. This story is amazing for the fact that this person had not worked for over ten years.
