What’s going on in the area?

The AMP project (Ancoats and Miles Platting youth action) are proud to announce that with the help and support of the community network; unit 73, (the community space within Cariocca Business Park) is now an officially approved assessment centre for the Junior Sports Leader Awards. This will enable young people aged 14 -19 in the area who achieve this award to have an enhanced chance of employment in sport.

The AMP project currently has five young men engaged on the J.S.L.A. and hopefully they will have successfully completed and gained the qualification by March 05.

There has also been Saturday morning woodwork sessions, where the young people worked alongside Matt Favier from the Scene project.

The AMP project is soon to be working with the Zest project (see Zest’s Vision) who are also based part time in unit 73 on working with young people on health issues e.g. healthy eating programmes, body image, and cheap and cheerful healthy cookery classes.
