Caravans?
I’m coming up to 71 so I might be going a bit senile, however can anyone else remember an enclosure of real old-fashioned caravans near Thomas Street “croft” before 1939 War? My wife Eileen thinks I’m dreaming but she is so much younger than me-only in her sixties.

These were the old horse drawn type with big wheels and rounded tops (like the one you see hired out for holidays in Ireland).

I think they were on some land enclosed by a high brick wall bounded by Dyson Street, Vickers Street and James Street. I even think there was a lad who lived in one who came to Corpus Christi School whose name might have been Hockenhall or similar??
