Arthur’s Citation

On the 15th February 2003 at the Glendower Hotel, St Anne’s-on-Sea, the Colonel of the Queens Lancashire Regiment, Brigadier G. P. Sheldon, presented a medal and illuminated Citation to Arthur Wozencroft.

Arthur progressed from being a very prominent Secretary of the Queen’s Lancashire Regiment Association to becoming its President. He was born and bred in Ancoats and is a resident at Victoria Square (The dwellings), he is only the thirteenth recipient of this award, a rare honour indeed.

The East Lancashire and South Lancashire Regiments amalgamated in 1958.
In 1970 the two regiments were joined by the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment forming the present Queens Lancashire Regiment whose Colonel-in-Chief is Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
