My sister Kathleen Moynihan then Keetley, led the band at many events. But the highlight of the year has got to be the Whit Friday processions, proceeding from St. Patricks, along Rochdale Road, past Smithfield Market, all the lads from the stalls would be cheering and clapping and waiting for Kath to throw her stick up in the air. She would catch it and the roar from the appreciative crowd was deafening.

Here is a photo of my sister Kath, leading the band, along Market Street I think.
Many talented people emerged through St. Patricks. We
had a great Amateur Dramatic Society called the New Patricians.
We did Pantomimes, Passion Plays, Musicals and short plays. We had lovely singers,
Mark Brady, Marie Hulton, Tony Kennedy and Billy Buttons Pelham,
to name a few. We were guided and directed by the excellent Joe Lucas, choreographed
and produced by the great Miss Ashton.
Everyone joined in to make costumes, local people provided the lighting, scenery,
special effects and the wonderful orchestra.
The highest point in my short acting career was playing
the King of Geese in yes youve guessed it Mother Goose!
