Bradford Park

Local Residents, NDC and City Council have been working in partnership over the last 18 months to design a new park in the heart of Beswick. Prior to the refurbishment there was only a small under five’s play area. The park now has a multi sports area, activity area for 5-11 year old children, new football pitch and a skate boarding area. New seating has been provided and in the planting season it is intended to provide trees and flowers.

The park itself is approximately 2.5 hectares and along with the Grange Community centre provides one of the few high quality green spaces in Beswick. Ever since the play equipment was installed the park has been very busy. Furthermore a programme of summer activities including football took place this year. A funday to celebrate the Commonwealth Games took place in August, including face painting, bouncy castles and a brass band, over 1000 people turned up!

It is now intended to set up a “Friends of the Park” group that will oversee the future development of the park. For further information please contact; Harmesh Jassal at New Deal for Communities
