Piggy Riley’s Pawn Shop

It was said he took a bundle in without looking at it. The owner came to the pawn shop every week with her husbands shoes wrapped in a cloth.

Mr. Riley just pushed the bundle up the counter without opening or checking it. He lent money on it and it was put in the room with other shoes.

During the week, there was a dreadful smell coming from the shoe room.

So began the task of checking the bundles of shoes, he came to the smelliest bundle and found it to contain a Pigs Head instead of a pair of shoes!

Thus earning Mr. Riley ever afterwards the nickname Piggy and he probably opened up and checked every parcel from then on to be sure of what came in!
