Two of our Team on Local Radio
Alf and I were guest interviewee’s on Northmanchester FM radio being broadcast from the Sports club in Kenyon Lane Moston. It is possible that legislation now going through Parliament will mean that Local radio will be given wavelengths of their own to operate.

Our purpose was to try to get some volunteers to join our magazine team. It was a very fortunate co-incidence that the young lady interviewer Akela is herself a media student who is getting some experience on the radio, she will spread our leaflets around the colleges for possible recruits. Akela in particular just couldn’t put the magazine down, she went through it from cover to cover. Anne was engrossed in the kids page as she is involved in children’s activities, her comments were that it has something for everyone in it.

After our interview, I decided to stick around and entered into conversation with Anne Marshall, the “Pink Diva” who was to compere a hour slot a little later, she told me that two prominent people from the area namely Brian Hughes and Bernard Manning were her guests.

When they arrived we had a chat and I managed to get their comments on the latest issue of Have Your Say. Brian and Bernard were interviewed together by the “Pink Diva” who gave a profile on their charity fund activities, Bernard through his concerts and Brian from the proceeds of his books of which every penny goes to the “Rainbow Trust”.
