it out
Can I ask bus companies
to get together to sort out the bus fare situation? Im fed up of getting
on a bus and being charged different fares on the same journey, to the same
destination, by the different bus operators. This is very annoying, it also
quite often leads to arguments, simply because the passenger is convinced the
driver has got it wrong.
There seems to be even more
confusion about the Day Tickets, not so long ago passengers could get on any
bus and purchase a ticket (Rover) from the driver, which could be used on any
bus for a full day. Nowadays there are various prices for day tickets, unfortunately
they can only be used on the bus operators buses that sold it. NOT on all.
There is one day ticket (£3) that covers the whole range, First bus, Stagecoach
Manchester and Bluebird. But the unwary passenger who doesnt know about
this can easily get the wrong ticket and be told when they try to travel on
another operators bus Cant use that on ere mate!
Now on to the subject of Family Tickets. Bluebird Buses dont issue family tickets and they dont accept family tickets from the other bus companies; First bus or Stagecoach Manchester. This is also most annoying if you are travelling with children people dont want to be waiting for a particular bus operator, the idea of travel is to get from A to B without too much hanging around at bus stops!
Now onto the good news. Senior Citizens can now purchase The System One senior day bus-card from GMPT Travelshop as long as they hold a valid concessionary permit. It is a scratch-off card and the relevant date must be scratched off before they board the bus. Very good value at £1-25. To save even more money Senior Citizens can purchase at a cost of £4-85. The System One senior weekly buscard to make unlimited bus journeys throughout Greater Manchester for one week.
