As a child I attended the school myself, although then it was called Nelson Street Primary. I have only one memory from my time there, and that is the last memory of my grandfather, when he died, passing the school in the hearse. I watched through the railings. My grandfather meant a lot to me and this is why this memory has stayed with me.
I am now a mother living in the Miles Platting area. At present
I have three children going to Miles Platting School. My eldest son will be
leaving the school this year. I am worried he will find it strange, not only
because he is going to high school, but because he will be leaving behind the
people he can trust.
